Community Groups / Discipleship Groups
The avenue to connection and growth at Christ Community is to get involved in a discipleship group or community group. So often churches get bogged down in the organization and development of programs, the focus being of building and developing churches. We are certainly not opposed to the development of programs. However, Jesus did not ask us to build the church. He, in fact, said that he would accomplish this monumental task (Matthew 16). Instead, he commanded us to focus our attention on the task of making disciples. He modeled this by inviting 12 men into a very close, life-on-life, relationship. He taught them to be disciples by having them immitate him. We invite people into small discipleship groups, some men with men, some women with women, some mixed, for the purpose of learning how to be disciples of Jesus.
